  I was fortunate to engage Kent Heng from The Design Scientist for the recent renovation of my residence. Going into the project, I was initially quite skeptical, as renovating a home is a significant undertaking and there are always concerns about communication, quality, timelines, and how issues will be handled along the way. However, Kent completely changed my initial perception through his professionalism, responsiveness, and commitment. From the early stages of the renovation right through to completion, he was exceptionally responsive and consistently kept me updated on the progress. Whenever there were questions or issues, he was quick to respond and, more importantly, took the initiative to follow through and ensure that things were properly addressed. What impressed me most was Kent's sense of responsibility and ownership. He did not simply consider his job done once the renovation was completed. He continued to follow up on the outstanding matters and made sure everything was properly taken care of even after handover. That level of commitment and accountability is something I truly appreciated. The renovation process can often be stressful, but having an ID who is reliable, transparent, responsive and willing to take ownership makes a huge difference. After comparing multiple IDs based on quotes, ID profiles and interviews, and customer reviews we decided to go with them and we have absolutely no regrets. Kent led and supervised our reno, and he made the entire journey smooth and stress-free. From the start, his pricing was transparent, detailed (not lump sum), and without GST, making it one of the most competitive options compared to other IDs, without compromising on quality workmanship and materials. What truly sets Kent apart is his professionalism, service and sincerity. He is calm, straightforward, and never hard-sells. Very quickly, we felt we could trust him because it was clear he genuinely wanted our family to enjoy our new home.   I recently engaged kent from the design scientists for my flat renovation.  Prior to that, I had also gotten quotations from 3 other ID companies. Unlike the other ID companies , Kent listened to what i want my apartment to look like and he was the most confident of all. As mine was a partial renovation excluding kitchen carpentry, kent designed some shelves to cover a part of my existing kitchen wall. I am glad that it turn out very well with the new sinter stone backsplash. He also proposes box up of the aircon trunking, it turns out very neat too. Kent is always available to answer your questions and solve any issues. Aside from some minor paint job and floor touch up.  His project management is good and the renovation completed on time.   Matched by Hometrust After a few quotations decided to go with Wennis as she put us at ease during discussion. With her experience and expertise she is able to guide us as we plan for the design of our new home. During the whole duration of our renovation she has been very helpful and responsive which matter alot to us. She will really attend to any problem that was encountered during the process and assured us that there are ways to manage. From our first contact in Nov 25 to the handover in June 26, it has been pleasant working with her.   Had a good experience discussing our renovation plans with Wenxuan from The Design Scientists. He was patient, meticulous, and detailed throughout the entire discussion process. I especially appreciated the effort he put into understanding our requirements and preparing a thoughtful proposal. His pricing was also competitive and transparent, and he was responsive whenever we had questions. Although we eventually decided to go with another ID due to personal design preference alignment, the experience working with Wenxuan was positive overall.   Would like to commend the interior designer, Clifford Wong. After shortlisting at least 6 interior designers, I decided to go with Clifford because of his easy-going personality, portfolio and expertise in renovation works. Clifford consistently demonstrated deep knowledge of the field, offering valuable advice that helped me keep within my renovation budget while getting the expectations I hope to achieve in term of design-wise. The final outcome exceeded my expectations (see photos below for reference). Clifford personally went down to the site to oversee major works, ensuring everything runs smoothly, and regularly provides us with photo updates on the progress. It was a breeze working with Clifford in this renovation project and Clifford has a high service standard himself too as he will ensure any defects to be properly fixed as per expectation.   Just want to share my renovation experience and say a big thank you to my ID, Zen! My home is a 31 years old HDB maisonette, and honestly I was very careful this time because I had a very bad experience with my previous ID for my previous home so I went to meet and vet quite a few designers before deciding to go with Zen and really no regrets at all! Zen’s pricing is reasonable and transparent, which made me feel very安心 from the start. He’s very humble, steady, and knowledgeable, you can tell he really knows his stuff probably from his years of experience. Now already 2 years since renovation, on/off I still contact zen for some recommendations and am amazed that he still replies me always. All the fittings are still in very good condition as well which requires no headache nor return. People always say renovation very stressful, but with Zen, the whole process was actually quite smooth and pleasant even though my house is big and it is more challenging for excellence. What I appreciate most is that I didn’t need to worry much. Every time I did a surprise check, things were properly managed and under control. End result and outcomes turned out really nice ! Till today, family and friends who come over always compliment the house. I will definitely look for Zen again for my future home renovations. Thank you for transforming my home!!   We would like to specially commend our interior designer, Wennis Lim. After shortlisting three interior designers, we decided to go with Wennis because of her easy-going personality, strong expertise in renovation works (she is a senior in her field with 4–5 years of experience), and her reasonable price point. Throughout the renovation journey, she consistently demonstrated deep knowledge of the field, offering valuable advice on areas we would otherwise not have known much about—such as glass works, carpentry, and water piping. Wennis is also extremely hardworking and hands-on. She personally goes down to the site to oversee major works, ensuring everything runs smoothly, and regularly provides us with photo updates on the progress. As a senior designer, she sometimes brings along her junior colleague to guide and mentor them, which we felt reflected her professionalism and leadership. Design-wise, we already had a clear idea of what we wanted, and communicating this to Wennis was very easy. In fact, the final outcome exceeded our expectations (see photos below for reference). We are truly grateful for her service and dedication.   Glad to have engaged Clifford as my ID! Spoke to several IDs and out of all of them, Clifford was the most responsive and pricing was also reasonable. Clifford offered practical ideas based on our description of our needs/habits, and did not try to upsell us on unnnecessary things. During the renovation and carpentry works, he was also very responsive to our queries and addressed them promptly. I did not see the need to go down to the site often as Clifford provided frequent updates with photos/videos. Have recommended him to my family member, who also engaged him to do some minor reno works for their existing flat.
